The Walkers Driving Man

The crisps delivery driver used to come to me on a Friday.
Always a new story about politics at head office,
about “ridiculous” targets,
about sales dips in region 4.
He was, what I would call, burdened.
And me laughing was not the answer,
but what immeasurable tragedy.
  
To make amends, I told myself
that in primary school, when asked the question,
“What do you want to do when you grow up?”
he would always have answered,
“Drive crisps around and get stressed.”
Sometimes we get lucky.
